After the COVID-19 pandemic, monitoring the heart rate and SpO2 levels have become critical in healthcare. However, due to the lack of adequate supplies, a majority of people, especially in rural areas, do not have access to these measurement kits. This IoT project will help you make a measuring kit with a few simple tools.
Measurement of heart rate and SpO2 is done by pulse oximetry method using sensor module and Raspberry Pi. The Arduino-based sensor module collects, calculates and sends heart rate and SpO2 data to Raspberry Pi for further analysis based on normal value reference table to detect abnormalities.
A pulse oximeter measures your blood oxygen levels and pulse. A low level of oxygen saturation may occur if you have certain health conditions. Your skin tone may also affect your reading. Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive test that measures the oxygen saturation level of your blood.
